The utility included in this package upgrades the firmware on th

Seagate 7200 rpm SATA Hard Drives that shipped on H
Workstations:

Firmware Revision: HP12 through HP24
NOTE: The included utilities check to ensure that an affected har
drive model
is installed before upgrading the firmware. If the correct har
drive model is
not found, the firmware is not upgraded.
The new firmware fixes a well-publicized issue that could rende
the drive
inoperable after a power cycle. Although the chances of a driv
failure are
minimal, HP recommends that all appropriate hard drives be upgrade
as a
preventative measure. After the upgrade, the firmware revision wil
be HP26.
The included utility creates a DOS bootable USB key that wil
contain all the
files to update the identified hard drives.
To create or modify the bootable medium, follow the instructions i
the
MAKEIT.TXT file, which is located at the top level of the installe
folder tree
